You and LauraH should come up to Minnesota this winter to hunt the Great Gray Owl. I think Birdchick is doing a bird trip with Stan Tekiela to the Sax-Zim Bog (the best place to find them)

"Officially" since 1994 (12 years) when I decided to start sorting out all the "little brown birds" and when I went on my first "warbler walk", but I have been watching feeder birds since childhood. (No, you may not ask how long that is!)

I have 2 - a 7x25 pair by Celestron that I use for watching out my windows, and an 8x42 pair (not sure of maker; says "Equinox" on them) that I take into the field

icon? or "idol"? I have several birding mentors who have taught me a lot; too many to list here.

Just one? Cardinals - a bright red male on a snowy day
