The Vile Tummy Virus struck here again. After waking us at 5 am barfing, Isabelle spent the day on the couch sipping juice carefully. I spent the day spraying Lysol carefully and burning all the towels and sheets.
Between the Lysol fumes and tending the flames, I did some beading:
When I saw these cool painted china disc beads, I had to have them. This is a piece I actually made for myself. I love that it turned out exactly like I wanted it to.
Glass flower beads + silver leaf spacers = dangles....that I don't know what to do with.
Ever since I have perfected the art of the wire "swirl", I can't stop incorporating them into stuff.
More swirls...and pretty shell discs. I can't stop myself. It's become an obsession. I have enough pieces to start my own jewelry store.
The birds were pretty quiet today, due to a pair of Cooper's hawks chuck-chucking off in the back woods most of the day. But we had a squirrel.....
Brace yourself for some sweet squirrelly toes and nom-nom-noming:
Zick Dough being put to good use. Julie has BUNNY LIPS...I have squirrel toes. So there.
And I may not have Chet, but I have Nellie. Thinking deep thoughts. Well, probably the only deep thought she has ever had.

Girl, your beading is amazing. And, I know what I'm talking about. I've done beading and I'm wearing your beading RIGHT THIS MINUTE! You are amazing.
Squirrel toes? Ruby wants to let you know she prefers them with a nice sweet and sour sauce!
And, you tell Nellie that I'm quite sure she has deep thoughts all the time! Poor thing. You be nice to her! :)
I hope the little one gets well soon and that you quickly find some new linens. By the way, the beadwork is really quite impressive.
Lovely beading! If those dangles are sturdy, you could put them on zipper pulls. Or turn them into wine charms.
Poor Nellie! That thought looks like it hurts....
Your work continues to astound me, you are so talented.
Hugs, hugs, hugs to Isabelle.
Deep thought or unconscious? She's a pretty girl.
Susan, you could make loads of money selling your jewelry pieces, you know. Everything is beautiful. I worked with a nun who made jewelry all year and sold it at the high school during the Christmas holidays. She raffled off her best pieces and made $1,000 one year which paid for her airfare to Italy. Cool, huh?
Ihope your children get well soon. Such a drag to be sick any time but during spring it just isn't right.
Love the necklace you made for yourself. Those flower dangles are great too.
P.S. I think Nellie is quite beautiful and I bet she is as lively as Chet from time to time. She looks so serious in this photo. Maybe she is thinking about what she will do with the next squirrel she catchs.
You have some lovely jewelery pieces. If you wanted to try selling them on a no-risk casual basis you could try a site like Etsy.com. It's kind of like a cross between eBay and CafePress - you have your own "storefront" that you sell your products from, but they're your own products and you're responsible for shipping, etc. There's a minimal listing fee (20c) per item, but they take no cut of the sales price. You can list as many or as few as you'd like. I had a friend buy a few items from sellers on Etsy, she loves browsing the site. It might solve the dilemma of what to do with your pieces once you've made them. :)
Very pretty Susan! I agree, you should try selling some to support that Starbucks habit of yours.
Hi Susan,
Love those earrings! Seabrooke is right about Etsy. It's easy to set up an account. I have one also, but haven't taken the time to put up any of my knitting for sale yet....but I need to do that soon (possibly a good way to fund birding excursions!)
Nellie is so cute dozing in the sun....my old doggie used to love that too.
You are sooo talented!! an artist!!
Looovely pieces. If you ever decide to start a business, I'll buy online!!
Kisses,
Mel
