Excuse me, sir. Is this dune taken?

I hear the beaches at Cape May are beautiful. But I am thankful I won't be sleeping on those beautiful beaches. Susan over at Lake Life got the LAST available room at the Cape Harbor motel. It seems that half of the birding world is going to stay there.
After a lot of swearing and frazzle, I found a room at La Mer, a very nice resort on the beach.

Not too shabby, huh?
(I Photoshopped a picture of myself in a bikini and slapped it on...not.)
I took a room without an ocean view, to save a lot of $$$ and I won't be in the room much during the day anyway. But all you slackers over at the Cape Harbor are welcome to come hang out and see how the other half lives.
If you read my blog, you know that everyone who is anyone is coming to Cape May, New Jersey for the Autumn Weekend...THE Bird Show.
There will be workshops for field identification, beginning and intermediate birding, digiscoping, hawk watching, seabird watching, choosing binoculars & scopes, and more. A lot of us are going on a "Poor Man's (Women's, darn it!) Pelagic to see what the sea has to offer.

It's not too late to come along, meet the faces behind the blogs and do some fantastic birding. There are still hotel rooms available (though this late in the game, you will probably have to up your budget for the weekend) and registration for the field trips and workshops is October 15.
There is a discount for bird bloggers. The Rules for the discount are thus:

In order to qualify for the discount, your blog must have been started sometime before January 31, 2007. Your blog must have regular updates at a minimum of four times a month. If your blog has been inactive for more than 30 days, it will not qualify for the discount.

22 days and counting!

SWEET DIGS!!
You're bound to have lots of "best friends" wanting to hang with you at that posh place. ;)

Are you the tan bathing beauty or the white legged one behind her?

redflem is the word!

All of you will have fun and I bet you will see many, many birds. It sounds as if Cape May is THE place to be!

Gosh--at least I'm not alone in being unable to go. I only get very limited vacation time--maybe next year i'll get a chance to be part of the gang!
Until then, don't make us tooooo jealous. Beaches, birds....sniff.

Like Nina, I have very limited vacation time, so can't join you all for Cape May this year. Maybe next year --- My blog will qualify me to be a member of the Flock by then. (I didn't start in time this year.)

Although, I think if you had mentioned the nude beach earlier, I might have tried harder to go this year.

Oh, glad to hear your camera is back and healthy. (Combining comments for the posts before and after this one.)
