What I am reading now

The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

I am not blog-savvy enough to do a nice little sidebar for this like Laura has. I started reading this today, and for awhile I forgot about the kids...it's that good.

I've heard of this book - what's it about?

Re: my blog savvyness - I finished my "What I'm Reading Now" book about two weeks ago, but can't change the link without Blogger screwing the whole page up! Blog-savvy my butt!

LOL!
The book starts in 1964, with a doctor having to deliver his own twins in a snowstorm. The first baby is healthy, but the second clearly has Down's Syndrome. He gives the baby to his nurse to take to a home for the "feebleminded" without telling his wife (she was knocked out for the births). The nurse ends up taking the baby to another town to start over.

Susan-
I saw this book in a book store recently and thought it looked really good. I just finished "Gods in Alabama" and it was great, the best book I've read in a while, if you haven't read it, maybe we can trade!
