The Language of Love (Red-Shouldered style)

There's just way too much snow around, and all the parks in the area (my usual birdy-haunts) were closed. I walked the Loveland Bike Trail since some kind-hearted soul blazed a trail with a 4-wheeler.
There are RSHA nests along the trail and I was hoping to catch a glimpse...
I found three hawks circling and crying out in that awesome voice they have. I think that the RSHA scream is tied with the barred owl "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you all?" hoot for my favorite bird sounds.

So sit back, turn up your speakers and enjoy the sound of love:

Very nice! Tell us about the other bird sounds around you, please!

I love the sounds of the Red-shouldered Hawks, although you were making us a little dizzy! I also loved the cardinal singing in the back group! I am so pretty pretty pretty!

Trix: There were cardinals and titmice and chickadees...and I think a few geese on the river.

Tom: Sorry I made you dizzy. Still getting used to the camera. My old camera had the zoom by the shutter, but this one is where my thumb is.
Those little birds were pretty bold, considering there were three hawks overhead.

We have the Red-tailed hawks here but we seldom hear their cries so I love the video. Also I have seen many barred owls but only hear the calls at night. My favorite call is that of the eagles when they throw back their head and really yell and scream. Then Ravens can really talk to you and converse...oh I like all the bird sounds when I think of it and I try to talk to them all too like some kind of loony person.

Hip hip hurray! Your video confirms my suspicions -- I have a red-shouldered in my very own neighborhood. I've heard it screaming like mad and saw it one day but it was flying overhead (way overhead). From my Sibley book, I figured it had to be a red-shouldered and I listened to the sound on the internet but hesitated to be sure -- now I'm sure! Yay! Thanks, Susan!

I love the RSHA, mainly because of its voice. There was a pro golfer in FL that didn't, though:
