Time with Trixie

I am officially a member of the Trixie Fanclub.
Excuse me while I sound like a 16 year old...but, Oh My God, she is so cool.
Possibly the most adorable chick I have ever met.
She's intelligent, interesting, and funny enough to make you wet your pants. (I somehow kept control of my bladder today.)

And her kids. Oh my. Even cuter in person.
Zoey is an 11 year old who is smarter than some adults I know. Bright, interesting, interested, a birder (Hell yeah!), sweet, funny....I am running out of adjectives.
Vivi is a cute little sprite full of life and kindness and good manners.
My girls have not stopped talking about them.


First, we met at an indoor playground in Sharon Woods. We let the girls play, and Trixie and I actually got to have a grown-up conversation.
Then it was to Skyline, to pig out on that special, one-of-a-kind chili that you just can't get in Alaska.
Then, we stopped at RAPTOR, so they could meet a few program birds. Zoey really wanted to see a Peregrine, and what do you know...we have one. I pulled a few birds out to show them off and everyone ooohed and ahhhed.

Okay, why didn't Geoff tell me that I looked like a janitor today?
Come on, man...throw me a freakin' bone here!

We had such a nice visit, and I didn't want it to end. But I had education reports to finish for tonight's board meeting. So it will probably be another year or more before we can get Trixie back here. She really needs to move to Ohio.

The moon was spooky and beautiful tonight. Is this the end of the Sunflower moon? Someone who keeps track of such things needs to tell me.

Sittin' on a gravestone of a reverend who had become room temperature 300 years ago. We know how to do it right, huh? Look how young and unfettered and normal we look. Sigh. See above picture for what having kids does to you.

Now that I have met Trixie, and know the fun and excitement of it, I can just imagine the craziness when the Flock hits Cape May!
