The sunset tonight was so fabulous. Pinks, purples, blues...

Kingfishers were loud and obvious.
Updated: My bad. It's a great egret.
One of the kingfishers got a really BIG fish.
The pipevine swallowtail caterpillars are eating and getting bigger every day.

Conjunctivitis at its worst...this male house finch has one functioning eye, and the other one is sealed shut. We can only hope that he can scratch it off and be able to see fully again. Or he will probably die.At Lake Isabella yesterday:

An Ermine Moth. Weird. I hear that their range is growing north, following their food source, the Tree of Heaven.

My favorites are the sunset, the kingfisher with a big fish and the girls. Keep up the good work.
Sorry you're not feeling better yet but it sounds like you had a BAD infection so it might take a bit. I love your random posts. You sure are getting to be a bug queen!

I'm sorry you are still ailing but after a visit to the ER, you must have had a major infection going on. Be patient and take care of yourself. I'm glad you are still up and about doing your random things :o)
Good thing you got those bad buggies on the run when you did. That sounds like some nasty stuff.

I've seen that Ermine Moth in my yard, too--on--you guessed it--the milkweed.
Looks like that Kingfisher has his hands full with that fish! Lucky him!
