After a program this afternoon, I looked around for Junior. I just knew he was around. Night was falling, and I knew that if he saw me, he would be asking to eat, or maybe asking if I wanted to be his girlfriend.
Can you see him?
It was at this angle that I saw him. This is why you just don't see owls very often. Talk about masters of disguise. Great horned owls, in particular, are the exact color of tree bark. I knew he was around, but it took awhile to find him, just because he was being an owl.Can you see him?
RAPTOR's neighbors have found the S.S. Minnow!
A pic from a few days ago. If you look closely, you may be able to see the starlings tearing apart the fruit on our Bradford pear tree.
On a non-related note: The post that is too mean to die...I am still getting comments about my unschooling post. Think maybe I hit a nerve?

They are the masters.
Cool - I never really paid attention to owls before, now I'll be out in the dark looking for them. The S.S. Minnow - you are a riot!
Yup, you definitely hit a nerve with all of us! It still floors me how badly they treated you - guess they didn't learn any manners in UNschool.
