Oh, fate has brought to our door and hearts a champion against sorrow, against loneliness.
He has been neutered (ouch!), treated for a case of hookworms (itch!) and is on antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection (sneeze!).
On the way home from the vet, he split his time between the seat next to me, and the seat between the girls. I had nothing to worry about when it came to Nellie and Boomer meeting for the first time. Nellie instantly became the submissive one, and all is well. Food growling happened a little bit, but I'm sure once Boomer realizes that he can have all that he can hold, that will disappear.
The girls love him, Geoff loves him and all those feelings are mutual. Boomer REALLY likes Geoff. We should all go over to Geoff's blog and congratulate him on being a new "daddy".
There was a lot of butt sniffing going on. But look closely at Boomer's back and ribs and hips. He is not just thin, but the vet used the word "emaciated". He has a sharp hourglass figure.

"Hey, new big sister...let's play!"
It's one big love fest here at the Williams'.

Congratulations Williams family!!! Boomer is a handsome and very lucky dog.
Happy Gotcha Day Boomer!
He sure does look sad in that first pic.
;-(
Hope he recovers from his ordeal quickly and gains lots of weight and love.
Lynne:
These photos only scratch the surface of his cuteness!
Laura:
I completely forgot about YOUR Boomer! Well, great minds think alike, right?
I was driving as I took that first pic, and he was trying to figure out how to get back up in the front seat.
Yay yay yay yay yay yay yay!! Boomer's going to be a beautiful dog. He looks like good stuff. Great head, face, conformation, markings. My kind of Boston--strong and well-built. Love him up for us!
Susan, you're a hero. Everyone should try to get their dogs from the pound.
Mojo,
We here at Wong Way's Oriental restaurant always buy our dogs by the pound.
Have loads of fun!
In a comment to your previous post Shannon said she liked the Bengals oriented name of Boomer. Thanks for not getting him a couple years sooner or the only Bengals related name would have been Bummer.
Congratulations! I was so worried he'd have heartworm and not be strong enough to stand up to the treatment. Now just fill him up with "groceries" and lovin's and enjoy! From now on my 5-year-old, Fiona, will follow your blog as avidly as she does Julie Z's. (Fi's the president of Chet Baker's Fan Club-Under 6's Division, don't you know.)
:) Wendi
I *love* your new baby! He'll thrive under your excellent care and love! I'm looking forward to your Boomer stories!
