A day of boring lawnmowing

No bird photos today. And no blood photos, either.
I spent the day getting a new spool for our electric trimmer (woo hoo) and mowing our lawn. (yawn)

To break up the boredom of a straight-cut yard, we do our own version of crop circles around the purple martin house.

I went out when it was almost dark, hoping to get a cool shot of something. But all I got was this tree... which is gradually being taken over by wild grape.

And tomorrow I will spend a good part of the day transcribing.

I need to start doing education programs, so I can get some good photos. And break up the boredom.

Hi Susan,

I stumbled across your blog while surfing for info on avian diseases (I have a very sick chickadee in my back yard :( ... sadly, I'm suspecting WNV.)

Anyway, I love all of your pictures. Reading your blog really cheered me up. I'm a newbie to birding, but I'm loving it so far (except when I have sick birds in the backyard!!)

I love your crop circles! That's a great way to turn a boring job into something fun, huh? I know the moon was doing interesting things recently, but I haven't been able to find it around here to photograph it. I like your tree photo in the dark.
