In the cage of a heart,
Love is a butterfly
A beautiful wisp of light.
Seeking only to grow
And to burst from darkness into the sun,
looked upon by all.
To taste and to feel,
Taking to the space between, as a prayer.
Here for a time, hoping for forever,
When even forever is not enough.
And if loss tears its wings,
Its flight continues on...

Oh, how touching--the butterfly with torn wings.
Lovely pics, and lovely words.
Ohhh, how beautiful, Susan. Both the words and the photos.
I know how much this post means to you, Susan. I was touched by your words, your pictures and your emotions. Stay off the ledges.

:)
I just discovered your blog and I must say I love it. I plan to add your blog link to my blog. I've been given the privilege on several occasions to work with birds of prey and they are magnificent especially up close and personal. Your poetry is touching and beautiful, and the photos of butterflies bring your words to life.
