What do you get when you mix Jimmy Hoffa, hemmorhoids, crying children, a finch and an owl? One of my posts.

Jeepers. I have been busier than a one-armed paper hanger the past few days. Programs, the kids, house stuff, printing invitations for a RAPTOR fundraiser...whew. I need some Nature Therapy, which I will get tomorrow when Lorelei and I just go out in the woods somewhere and quietly exist and not think about anything.

Yesterday, it was Garage-Cleaning Time. I didn't get a picture of the "before" because it was too embarassing. Mice are able to squeeze in there alongside the overhead door and they found lots of things to chew up and make into nests.
I didn't find Jimmy Hoffa, but I'm pretty sure I found his shoe:

The shoe
Hmmm...are those cement flecks I see?

And everyone who has had babies in the "typical" way know what this is:
The big red doughnut
Maybe I can turn it into a festive wreath for the front door? Because nothing says
Christmas like hemorrhoid relief.
(I can't wait to see what kind of Google searches that pops up in)

Mad for no reason
She was mad for no reason...at least, no reason I could figure out. It made her even more PO'ed when I started taking pictures.

finch on a heron

Just 'cause it was cute...a finch on a heron.

Oh! The test results are in regarding RAPTOR's program great horned owl. This bird has been with RAPTOR for 10 years, and they were never sure of its gender. I have been calling it
"Big Momma" (from the Disney movie The Fox & the Hound).
And the DNA test has shown:

I AM happy
I am MALE.
You stupid human. Can't you see my immense avian studliness?

Random cuteness:
Since my taste in music runs from funk to classical, the girls get exposed to all sorts of different genres. I found my Moulin Rouge CD in the garage yesterday during my marathon cleaning, so I was playing it in the car. Lorelei loves to sing, so she tried to join in. I don't know if there is anything cuter than an almost 4 year old trying to sing "Lady Marmalade, especially the Voulez vous coucher avec moi, c'est soir part. Lorelei's version sounded like "voo voo woo woo saaaa".

Another song that she likes to sing along to is Third World's Reggae Ambassadors.
A sweet little girl voice singing "Whoa whoa whoa yay" ...priceless.

oooohhh...avian studliness. Big Poppa is putting out the vibes.

Lorelei and Vivi are sooo much alike I think. That picture of her is priceless, those big blue eyes and sweet cheeks, oh, and the insolent look. You have your work cut out for you.

So I am spending a leisurely morning, sitting in bed reading blogs (I know--such decadent luxury, but it's a benefit of being retired) and I am whooping and hollering laughing at your this-n-that blog.
Oh too funny, though I am sure for you some of the things aren't so funny.
And such a sweet face on that crying baby--just nothing suits, right?

Nothing like the "I'm mad but I am not saying why, and don't ask or I'll just get madder" big cry. Em used to do those too.

That doughnut pillow cracked me up. Funny you should mention 'hemorrhoids,' because someone recently stumbled onto my blog looking for a gag gift for someone who just had hemorrhoid surgery.

(And look at that tear-streaked face!!! Such a sweetheart...)

Hope a little nature helped you today!
Voulez vous. . ., I loved it when I found out what that meant when I was a teeny bopper. I've been known to use that line when I'm initiating you know what!

Susan, I read this at 5:45 a.m. this morning and laughed out loud. But I just couldn't comment that early!

I guess the funniest photo is poor Lorelei's mood. Then reading about her French singing talent! LOL!

You have a real talent for making an ordinary day into a real treat.

And, by the way, I noticed the owl's studliness right away :o) What's wrong with you???

Forgot to mention the cushion. It was my best friend for a while. Mine was white - I like red better. Draw some hollies on it and hang it.
