Word of the Day:

idee fixe \ee-day-FEEKS\, noun:
An idea that dominates the mind; a fixed idea; an obsession.
I should do more than just paste the word of the day into my posts. So I will try to start using them...I am going to sound SO brainy.
Okay:
The quest to find open water has been my idee fixe lately. (By the way, when I first saw that word, I thought it would be pronounced "eye-dee fix-ay")

Open water and mallards

I found a bit of open water at Symmes Park, and a bunch of mallards.
Side-thought: The geese I saw at East Fork the other day seems to have started a state-wide ID conundrum. Julie Z. has gotten involved, and Bill and Jeff Gordon...they are wondering if they are Ross' geese. The jury is still out, though.
Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit.
Balls
I took this picture just for you, my Blogger Gals:
This truck had a pair of plastic...well....BALLS.... hanging from the bumper.
I don't even know what to say about this.

Sleepy Buddha

"Do you mind, Mom? I am so tired...please..no more photos."

The cats are so over staying in the basement. Kathi (Katdoc) brought up some behavior training that I could do with Boomer, but it's all been done. He will never be able to live with cats.
Trixie
Trixie looks really PO'ed here, but she is really a sweet cat. A lovey, in your face kind of cat.

My very own Borgman
Randomness:

Once upon a time, Geoff and the editorial cartoonist from the Cincinnati Post, Jeff Stahler, had a comic strip called "Dear Dudley". Don't look for it...it's been dead for years. But one of the highlights was that Geoff got to meet Jim Borgman, the editorial cartoonist at the Cincinnati Enquirer and the artist for ZITS. They met at a cartoonist convention (how fun would one of THOSE be???) and I had asked Geoff to get his autograph...but I got something better. My very own Borgman!
Belle the magazine star

And Isabelle has already had her 15 minutes of fame (though I think she will have hours of it when she is an adult). Geoff writes for many magazines, and one of them is Parenting. He uses us (the girls and me) for story ideas, and Isabelle's glasses caught the attention of the editors and asked Geoff to write something. They couldn't find a stock photo of a baby in glasses, so they sent a photographer to our house to take pictures of Isabelle.
She was 15 months old at the time, and not very excited about the whole thing. It took 3 hours and 8 rolls of film to get these two shots.
If you ever want a laugh, you can go to their website and search for "Geoff Williams" to see his articles. He is hilarious, especially when he does his first-person articles. Just the right amount of self deprecation and making me look like the level headed one in this relationship.

Well check you out getting the experts going on your birds! Cool.
I've heard of people hanging scrotum on the back of their vehicle, but never saw one. Thanks, now I can say I did. I wonder if that is supposed to mean the vehicle is the other man thang?
Poor kitties. They're so patient.
Isabelle is such a cutie! I'll have to check out the articles. I liked reading his blog - when he wrote it - to give another perspective of what you and your daughters were up to.

How in the world did you get a photo of the truck's balls? Were you driving along and said, "Oh My God, look at those balls! Where's the camera?" Is your idee fixe of the day about balls, too?

You crack me up.

I read Geoff's article on "Sex after the baby"...He's hilariously honest :)

Cute Isabelle and cute kitties.
