Happy Blog Anniversary to ME .....

Yep, it's been a year since I started this blog.
I began this journey just for something fun to do. I had no ideas of journaling my whole life, or meeting cool people, or getting involved in it so much.
That was a year ago. Thanks to this blog, I have learned tons about birds, plants, other's lives, got to meet Bill and Julie (and the kids and Chet!), and have found a community of like-minded souls. Thanks to this blog, I found Laura, my first non-family/friend commentor, a charter member of this blog.
Thanks to this blog, I found Birdchick, who helped me find RAPTOR, Inc. Thanks to this blog, Geoff has a blog. Thanks to this blog, Jim also has a blog.
Oh. Wait a minute.
:-)
Let's go to current events: This sign is posted next to a new church an exit or so down the interstate. This church used to be a movie theater.
Church folks can be clever, sometimes.

Isabelle FINALLY got her tadpoles. We ordered them months ago, but there are certain weather requirements that have to be met before the company will ship the little guys. The summer was just too hot for them to have survived, so we got them now.
This is one of the tadpoles. (We ordered two)
Isabelle has named them Tigger and Miss Frog.
They will grow up to be Leopard frogs.

Now, to celebrate the first anniversary of Susan Gets Native, I have news.
I have heard rumors that Cinnamon the Disapproving Rabbit, and Chet Baker, Wonderdog of Whipple, have been seen together in compromising situations. I didn't want to believe the rumors, because some folks would be uncomfortable with a mixed relationship, even in this day and age.
But then, I found the proof that sealed it.
They had a love-child.

Happy Anniversary! It's cool to know some of the history and who helped you get where you are now!
Yay! Tadpoles are cool!
LOL! What a riot the Rabbit / Chet mix! Where did you find the pic?

Where in the world did you get that pic?

Happy blogiversary! Just the other day I was poking around in your archives reading the stuff I missed before we *met*. The first post of yours that I remember was about your foot. lol! Those pics were hard to look at!

Glad that your blogging world is enjoyable and is expanding your horizons. Who woulda thunk it?

Glad to know you, Susan!

Susan,

Congrats on your year of blogging! I'm not a birding person expert but I have been feeding birds near my ponds for years and this past summer I was a close acquaintence of a pair of barn swallows and their 5 babies on my front porch. Being new at blogging, I look forward to your posts and stories about your cute girls, your birds, and your dogs...especially, Boomer, since I have two of the same. Love the tadpoles...your little girls will get a kick out of watching them grow into huge frogs. Where in the world did you get a picture of that mix? BTW, I think I fixed the posting problem. I jumped for joy tonight.

Pam:
Thank you, thank you!
You know that frog posts are in my future!
Laura:
I found the pic on a notebook at a local drugstore, and I had to buy it. And I didn't even need a notebook! I saw it and said, "That looks like the lovechild of Chet and Cinnamon!".
Glad to know you, too!
Big hugs!

Mary:
Thanks! When I started this, I had no clue that anyone other than my family and friends would even know the blog existed.
And thanks to blogging, I have Boomer! It's all Julie's fault!

Baker, who approves of almost everything, even baths, has been forced to disapprove of this post. He sends his warm congratulations and pogo-kisses on your first blogaversary, but that animal makes him deeply ambivalent. Mount or chase? Mount or chase?
Your synopsis of all the things that have resulted from blogging is fabbo, and come December I shall copy it.
Naturally, we are delighted to take the blame/credit for your adding Boomer to your family. But you must shoulder same for adding The Swami to the blogosphere, all by yourself.

Wow - I hope that critter doesn't come to my door looking for a handout - I think it would even be a deterrent for the squirrels :)

Congratulations on this first blogiversary May you have as much fun producing the coming year’s blog as we will reading it :)

Happy blogiversary!!! I'm happy to have met you in the wonderful world of pixels. :)

(I'm laughing at all of the disapproval over the doggit. Or is it a Rabbig?) Hilarious.

PS: three cheers for tadpoles!

Omigod, I'm laughing so hard about the rabbitdog that it's hard to see to type. Happy Anniversary!
Now, where can you get tadpoles for leopard frogs? I've only ever seen the Grow-a-Frog kits that result in one of those slightly grotesque African clawed frogs. Fiona would love to watch tadpoles transform after all the times we've watched monarch metamorphosis.

Happy (or as we bunny folk say Hoppy) Blog-a-versary!

That bun-dog pic is too funny! And I think the "Hello my name is God" sign is very clever!!!!

Blogging is fun - and I am glad to have met as well. It's all Laura's fault you know :))

We got a Frog-Habitat from Toys R Us, and we mailed in a certificate for the tadpoles.
