Laura, Thanks for the praise. I was hoping to capture that relaxed, floppy look that Nellie does so well. I love the auto focus on this camera...my digital chooses what's in focus for me, and sometimes I want to do something "arty" and I can't. My digital is a pretty cheap one...I bet the top-of-the-line ones do amazing stuff. But I am enjoying Dad's camera. Every time I press the shutter, I think of what he would say about the shot.
Well, you sure got the floppy look! That's a pic I'm sure you'll treasure in the years to come.
Taking a pic of a white cat next to a window is tricky business - it's hard not to overexpose - you have to compensate for what the camera's eye sees.
I have my eye on the Canon Digital Rebel that I can use with my fancy lenses - but I want to take a photography class first and learn to use all the bells and whistles - and finally understand f-stops and shutter speeds first!
Isn't it nice to have something of your dad's that you can use and appreciate and be reminded of him?
The shot of Nellie is gorgeous, Susan. Certainly a keeper!
ReplyDeleteI have a nice SLR that I never use anymore - very spoiled by the instant gratification of a digital - but really miss the control of the SLR.
