Friday Feathers

Most Fridays, I wrack my brain for something interesting to post.
I started thinking that someone had to start "Wordless Wednesdays" and cute things like that.
So I thought I would try to start up Friday Feathers. I post a picture of a feather and you guess what kind of bird it came from.

Here's the first, an easy one:

  1. Did you pick those off your hat or out of Geoff's tackle box? :)

  2. Even before seeing Dave's comment, I was going to say that I once saw the exact same feather in Bert Frimley's tackle box. Great minds....

Actually, I believe he caught a groupie,...er, grouper with it.

  4. I try to avoid posting on Fridays. When I do post, it's such a struggle to get it done.

That looks like a feather from a hat my grandmother would have worn - certainly not from a bird I've seen.

And what's with the word verification fonts! Are they getting more difficult or is it me?

  5. I'm with Lisa - this is the easy one?!?!?!?

My two answers have already been taken - Painted Bunting or from a hat. My next guess is some kind of hummingbird.

~Kathi, who is struggling with both the feathers and the fonts

  7. I was going to guess Painted Bunting, but I do not recall that orange on them....but that was the only thing I could come up with for a set of feathers that look like they had stumbled into a nail salon.

  8. Hummingbird feathers. And the appearance of the picture suggests the feathers are seen under a microscope. Katdoc got it first, but it was her third guess, and she didn't mention the microscope. That should be taken into consideration in case there is a jewelry prize.

Mary, maybe Blogger's trying to foil Mr. Runescape Gold WowPowerleveling who leaves me 50 comments a day on old posts. I can't make heads or tails of 'em either.

  10. Pretty feathers Susan. I got here late so already know they're hummingbird feathers. Aren't those colors fantastic? Another reason why hummingbirds are so special!

  11. I would've guessed it was just a screen shot of the credits to some 1960s game show.
