The vast spectrum of emotion

And then there were none.

The bluebird eggs are gone.
After sobbing in the yard, I came in, dried my eyes and checked on Penny.
And then there were two.
A newborn rat was laying next to her.
As of 10:20 pm, there are two.

  1. The nest was a bit torn up, so I assume a raccoon, squirrel or snake got them.
    Dammit.
